To celebrate National Hot Toddy day, we’re curling up by the fire with this warm, wintery version of a classic. We love El Buho brand of mezcal, which offers a nice balance of smokiness to this seasonal drink.
2 ounces mezcal, or to taste
1/2 ounce agave
1/2 ounce Grand Marnier (or other orange-flavored liqueur)
1/2 ounce fresh orange juice
Orange slice, for garnish, optional
1. In a mug, add mezcal, agave, Grand Marnier, and orange juice. Fill with hot water and stir. Taste and adjust as desired. Add orange slice (if using) and serve.
