apple pie smoothie

For a really thick smoothie, plan ahead and freeze your apples first (see cook’s note).
1 cup ice
2 frozen apples (peeled, cored, and diced)
1 1/2 cups vanilla yogurt
1 1/2 cups milk, or more as needed
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- In a blender, chop ice. Add apples, yogurt, milk, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Blend until smooth. Add more milk if too thick.
Makes approximately 4 8-ounce smoothies.
cook’s note: Using frozen apples makes this smoothie really thick and the perfect consistency. To freeze your apples, peel, core, and dice them. Transfer apple pieces to a Ziploc bag and store flat in the freezer.
