This vivid orange smoothie is an invigorating breakfast. The carrot makes it a tad savory, but the hint of both orange and ginger round out the overall flavor. Adding a pinch of black pepper helps to bring out the health benefits in turmeric.

  • 1 cup water, or more as needed

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen mango

  • 1 medium carrot, peeled and chopped

  • 1 orange, peeled and separated into wedges

  • 1 1/4-inch piece peeled, fresh ginger

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric

  • Pinch kosher salt

  • Pinch freshly ground black pepper

In a blender, combine ingredients and blend until completely smooth. Add more water if needed to reach desired consistency.

Makes 1 (16-ounce) smoothie.
