Our new, favorite take on the classic.
1 1/2 ounces tequila, or to taste
3 ounces fresh grapefruit juice (about 1/2 grapefruit)
1/2 ounce agave syrup, or to taste
Salt, for rim
1 grapefruit peel or wedge, for garnish, optional
- Fill a shaker with ice. Add tequila, grapefruit juice, and agave syrup and shake until chilled.
- Pour some salt onto a plate. Rub rim of a short glass with half of grapefruit and dip rim evenly in salt, coating entire rim of glass. Set aside.
- Fill prepared glass with ice. Strain mixture into glass and garnish as desired.
