homemade hot cocoa

While homemade cocoa isn’t hard to make, a warm mug of it on a cold winter’s day is most definitely a welcome treat. For each serving, bring 1 cup milk to a simmer in a saucepan over medium heat, until warm and heated through. Place 2 tablespoons of cocoa mixture in a mug and top with milk, stirring well to incorporate. Serve warm with homemade marshmallows.

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Pinch kosher salt

  1. In a medium bowl, add sugar, cocoa, and salt. Whisk until combined. Transfer to an airtight container and store for up to 1 month.

Serves 12.
