We love to freeze fresh strawberries when they’re in season and save them for smoothies anytime of the year. Plus, frozen fruit makes the smoothie thicker, which we also love. If using fresh fruit, you’ll probably need less milk, so start with 1/2 cup and add more if needed. If the berries are super sweet, either skip the honey or start with 1 tablespoon.
1 frozen banana
1 1/2 cups frozen (or fresh) strawberries, hulled and stemmed
1 cup whole milk, or more if needed
1 cup plain Greek-style yogurt
1-2 tablespoons honey
In a blender, add banana, strawberries, milk, yogurt, and 1 tablespoon honey. Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust as desired, adding additional milk or honey if needed.
Makes 1 16-ounce smoothie.
